Isode X.400 Messaging Evaluations

 

Isode's X.400 Messaging servers are used in a wide range of application areas including EDI, Aviation messaging and military messaging. Two X.400 Messaging evaluations are currently available:

 

• M-Switch X.400 and M-Store X.400
• M-Switch MIXER

When you evaluate our products we give you access to the same high-quality support resources that you'll be using when you become an Isode customer. We ask therefore that you fill in a short evaluation form before we give you access to the download area and send you an evaluation licence file.

M-Switch X.400 and M-Store X.400

M-Switch X.400 is a high performance, highly flexible and robust X.400 Message Transfer Agent (MTA). M-Store X.400 is an associated X.400 Message Store. By the end of this evaluation you will have:

• Used the Quick Configuration Wizard to set up X.400 messaging.
• Sent and received test messages using both X.400 P3 and X.400 P7.
• Examined the configuration using a number of Isode Management Tools, including:
  • MConsole to examine M-Switch X.400's queue and monitor operations.
  • EMMA (Enterprise Messaging Management and Administration) to view the directorybased
    configuration of the messaging servers.
  • EDM (Enterprise Directory Manager) to view directory configuration.
  • Sodium (Secure Open Data, Identity and User Manager) to view data in the directory.
  • Event Viewer to monitor log files.
• Experimented with extending the configuration by adding new users and learning how to
  set up a connection to another MTA.

M-Switch MIXER

M-Switch MIXER is a high performance message switch, providing conversion between X.400 and Internet email according to the MIXER specifications. By the end of this evaluation you will have:

• Set up M-Switch MIXER (Departmental), which is restricted configuration of M-Switch MIXER to communicate with an unlimited number of internet mail servers, and a single remote X.400 MTA.
