Isode adds High Assurance Messaging Features in R10.6
Release 10.6 of the Isode product set sees the introduction of an Audit Database, extending the scope of the operational management tools by enabling message tracking and quarantine options, and adds two new Linux platforms to our list of supported systems.
(LONDON. - Jan 18, 2005) -
Steve Kille, Isode's CEO said of the new release: " Many of the new 10.6 features, like message tracking and quarantine management, will be welcomed by customers and prospects across the many industries that we serve. Both are made possible by the Audit database, a key enabler for a range of tools that Isode will be releasing in the future. This release also furthers our 'high assurance messaging' strategy by producing tools that are equally at home in Internet, X.400 and mixed messaging environments."
"These new features are particularly attractive in those environments where monitoring and assured message delivery are an essential part of the service offering and will, we are sure, be particularly welcomed by our Military, Aviation and ISP customers."
Audit Database
The Audit database stores structured log information from one or more copies of M-Switch in an ODBC database. The database can be accessed by Isode applications or by customer/partner applications for management reporting, message tracking and quarantine management.
Release 10.6 includes summary statistical reporting and a new management application designed to take advantage of the Audit database, the Messaging Operator Interface (web).

Messaging Operator Interface (web)
This web-based application allows message tracking and monitoring based on a wide range of parameters, allowing operators to discover if/when/how a message was delivered and to initiate corrective action if required.
One of the message handling options within M-Switch Anti-Spam is 'quarantine', an area within which messages can be held pending action by administrator or user. With the Messaging Operator Interface the administrator can search for messages, release them and set predefined alerts to be sent to users when messages are quarantined containing URLs which allow them to release those messages. Provided as a script, the email interface can be customised for each installation.
Like all Isode web applications, the Messaging Operator Interface is written in Java, delivers Java Server Pages, accesses the Audit Database using JDBC and runs in Tomcat, a proven, reliable, free application server.

Platform Support Extension
Release 10.6 also sees two Linux releases added to the list of officially supported Isode platforms. The addition of SUSE Linux support means that both major commercial Linux releases are now supported by Isode and our support for slackware opens up Isode products to the users of this important freeware Linux implementation.
