Isode furthers its high-assurance messaging and directory strategy
with Release 11
Isode Release 11 (R11) is a complete revision of
Isode's Email and Directory server set aimed primarily at furthering
Isode's strategy of providing high-assurance messaging solutions to
markets such as Aviation, Military and Intelligence.
(LONDON. - May 26, 2005) - UK Software house Isode has established
a lead in the supply of high-assurance messaging products as well as
Directories used in support of messaging systems. Isode's products are
widely used in sectors where assured messaging is key to effective operation,
such as Military, Intelligence and Aviation. R11 re-enforces Isode's
lead by greatly improving monitoring and integration tools..
New features in R11 include:
- A new operator console to monitor directories, called DConsole.
In sectors such as the military market, where there is a high degree
of collaboration and data sharing between organisations, replicating
data between directories and data filtering (on a 'need to know' basis
for instance), an effective tool for monitoring of both directory
status and replication agreements is highly desirable. DConsole allows
monitoring from the consumer end, supplier end or both.
- XMSConsole, a new tool which supports the management of multiple
X.400 servers. XMSConsole gives the operator status information on
connections and mailboxes as well as monitoring unread messages, a
key feature in markets where messages contain urgent actionable information.
- A complete revision of the Logging system. User-definable event
logs are colour-coded to indicate type and severity with the user
given control over how events are handled. The logging system also
provides, audit logging for statistical analysis of directory server
operation and PDU Logging for recording data transfers.
- A Directory Client API, enabling applications to access a directory
to perform authentication and obtain configuration information. The
API is designed so that it is easy for applications to access generic
directory functionality, and will also provide additional functionality
for specific applications and markets. The first market-specific API
is the ATN(Air Traffic Network Directory) Directory API for the Air
Traffic industry.
Isode CEO, Steve Kille, commenting on the release, said: "Over
the past year we've seen Isode partners win new significant customers
as well as consolidate our position as a key supplier to the Military,
Intelligence, Aviation, Government and Service Provider sectors. We
want to maintain that position and have been consulting extensively
with our partners to identify the features and functionality needed
to keep us at the forefront of our targeted industries. R11 is a result
of that continuing consultation."
