Isode provides management tools for configuration and operational management. Operational Management tools (both user and adminstrator) are web-based allowing for extensive 'look and feel' customization to suit your environment. On this page you can find out about:
Configuration Management: Directory Based ConfigurationAll Isode messaging servers support directory based configuration management, where all configuration information is stored in a directory, such as Isode's M-Vault (which may be distributed) and configuration information can be shared between messaging servers. Table based configuration (appropriate for very simple deployments), where configuration information is specified in a set of text tables and a text 'tailor file', is supported as an alternate approach.
Configuration management of the messaging servers is handled by EMMA (Enterprise Message Management and Administration). This is a specialized Directory User Agent (DUA) which updates information in the directory relating to the configuration of the messaging servers. EMMA's graphical interfaces are designed to provide a straightforward interface for simple tasks, using wizards and simple front screens with defaults, while giving access to more detailed configuration control where needed. Configuration Management: Anti-Spam RulesEMMA also enables quick and straightforward configuration of M-Switch Anti-Spam's detection rules and message handling actions. Lists of blocked words and phrases, black or white listed email addresses, blocked telephone number content, suspicious character sets, MIME types and file extensions can all be allocated scores to build spam filters responsive to your needs. Once the scoring levels have been set, actions can be defined and associated with those scores. If a message is judged to be spam, M-Switch Anti Spam can:

Operational Management: M-Switch (The Message Operator Interface)Enabled by the Audit Database, the Message Operator Interface provides browser-delivered messaging management features for both administrators and end-users. Quarantine ManagementWhen messages arrive that are judged to be suspect (based on a set of rules that the administrator has control over) an alert message is sent to the intended recipient(s) informing them that new messages aehld in quarantine. That alert message, the appearance and content of which can easily be customised routinely contains:
Together these functions (which are also available to the administrator) ensure that vital 'real' messages which may have spam-like characteristics are never lost. For more information on this feature, click here. Mesage TrackingA search form allows authenticated users detailed searching across all messages delivered by the MTAs being monitored using a web browser. For more information on this feature, click here. Statistical ReportingThe Audit Database enables real-time monitring of messaging activity. Reports can be generated based on many criteria including; Spam score, Recipients, MTA, Message Size, Message Originator and Message Status (delivered, quarantined, transfered, rejected, etc.). A selection of reports can be found here. User Role Allocation & SetupThe Role Manager, accessed by administrators, allows access rights and permisions to be allocated to the different roles adopted by users.
