Isode's Icon-5066 1.1 release is a Fully Supported Isode release of Icon-5066 (see the Supported Releases page for more details).

Read on for the major changes that Icon-5066 1.1 introduced. Please note Icon5066 1.1 has now been superceeded by Icon-5066 1.2.

ALE & Modem Support

Automatic Link Establishment support has been extended to provide full 4G ALE support. ALE can be configured for a network, with option for implicit soft link setup. Support for two ALE drivers is added.

  • 2G ALE driver for RapidM RM family of modems.
  • 4G ALE support for Collins RT-2200A.

Support for RapidM modem family has been extended to include RM10 WBHF Modem.

Synchronous Serial Hardware Support

Support for MicroGate synchronous serial hardware, including PCI cards and SyncLink USB device.   Icon-5066 1.1 supports Windows only.  Linux support will be added in a future release.  MicroGate is now Isode's recommended synchronous serial hardware.

SeaLevel cards on Windows are supported, but this support is under review.

The Web management UI for Icon-5066 has been significantly extended to include:

  • Detailed information on each peer for 5066 node, including custom label.
  • Monitoring of CAS-1 soft link status for one or more peers.
  • Reporting on packet success and failure, showing frame error rate and link utilization.
  • Full information on previous transmission and reception.
  • Status reporting on current connection using 10 second sliding window.
  • Red/Green/Amber overall health monitoring.
  • Modem status monitoring, including failed control and data connections.
  • ALE monitoring, including HF frequency used.
  • Monitoring of active SAPs (connected applications), showing information on application and link usage.
