As a member of the small Isode IT Team you will be expected to help keep the company infrastructure going, update it where necessary and support users with their client machines as well. As a relatively junior role you would be expected to learn on the job as you go and to complete training when it’s provided. A keen desire to understand new software and technologies is a must.
As we move to containerisation both in our infrastructure and in the products that we develop, knowledge in containers and Kubernetes especially would be advantageous. Working with a security mindset is expected as we look to keep the company protected from external threats.
We run systems across Windows, MacOS and Linux with most of the team using Linux as their main workstation, so strong Linux skills will help as well as confidence on the command line and with basic scripting (e.g. Bash/Python/PowerShell).
This role is being offered as either hybrid or office based at our office in Hampton, depending on the candidate’s preference.
Required skills:
- Experience of desktop and server support both in Windows and Linux.
- Understanding of containers and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes) preferably with experience of one or more orchestration platforms.
- Experience of CI/CD infrastructure (Atlassian stack being a bonus).
- Knowledge of backup systems is helpful.
- Experience of cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS/Azure).
- Some scripting experience with particular focus on Python. Some basic Java skills would be an extra bonus.
- Good security mentality.
- Good problem-solving skills.
