Test Software Engineer

About the role:

Working with both the development and test teams, the candidate will take responsibility of the development and execution of tests to ensure a fully integrated and tested software delivery of known quality.

We are looking for a highly motivated and inquisitive candidate with proven experience of testing complex distributed systems. You must be able to work both solo and as part of a cross-functional team within a fast-paced and changing environment. The role is primarily focussed on manual testing (both functional and non-functional), but you must be technically astute, learn quickly, as there is scope to be able to carry out technical tasks such as test automation or CI/CD pipeline maintenance.

In addition to assisting with developing the test strategy and approach, identifying testing gaps and solutions in existing tests or carrying out targeted exploratory testing, the candidate will be also expected to contribute in other areas under the QA team, such as participate in ISO9001 audits or help in the review and maintenance of documentation and manuals.

While we do offer both flexible and remote working options, for this role the successful candidate is expected to spend at least part of their time working from the Hampton office.

Required skills:

• Experience of manual and tool-driven testing in a software environment.
• Experience of all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• ISTQB certification or recognised equivalent.
• Experience working with Product Owners and deriving test cases from Acceptance Criteria and / or detailed specification documents.
• Ability to produce clear test reports and maintain records to show the number and severity of bugs being raised and closed.
• Knowledge of Python and/or any other scripting languages is highly desirable.
